© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma 13 April 2004 August 18, 1931 ~ April 11, 2004 Raymond Birch Horn, age 72, of Lexington, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2004, at Purcell Municipal Hospital. Raymond was the first of eight children born to Hazel Birch Horn and Grace Opal Henderson. He was born August 18, 1931, in Rush Springs, Grady County, Oklahoma. He grew and attended school in Alex. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He drove for Lee Way Motor Freight Company, receiving the Million Mile Safe Driver Award two times over and retiring after 25 years. His lifelong love was his horses, with farming coming in a close second. He married Anne Miller on July 16, 1983 in Norman, OK. He was a storyteller who loved to visit with people. He will be greatly missed by his family. Raymond is preceded in death by his parents, Hazel Birch Horn and Grace Opal Henderson Horn; his son, Tomme Argo and wife Pamela Cleveland Argo. Raymond is survived by his wife, Anne M. Horn of the home; sons, Ronnie Argo and Melanie Beery of Lexington, and Randal Horn of Lexington; daughters, Natalie Murphy and husband Don of Phoenix, AZ, Raelyn Lamb and husband Steve of Lexington, Gina Jones and husband Robert of Lexington, Renee Bugher and husband Roy of Lexington; brothers, James M. Horn and wife Loretta of Newalla, John Roy Horn of Houston, TX, Bobby Lynn Horn and wife Laura of Ardmore; sisters, Yvonne Demarest of Oklahoma City, Wilma Stegall and husband Phil of Palo Pinto, TX, Gail Anthony and husband Jack of Oklahoma City, Sharon Stone of Oklahoma City; 12 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2004, at the First Baptist Church in Lexington with Rev. Joe Grizzle officiating. Burial will be in the Alex Cemetery in Alex, Oklahoma. Arrangements by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell. |
