© Chickasha Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Thursday, June 9, 1994 March 20, 1922 ~ June 5, 1994 Funeral service for Augusta Travis "Gus" Hooker, 72, of Alex, OK was held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 1994 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home of Chickasha. Augusta Travis "Gus" Hooker was born March 20, 1922 in Bradley, OK, the son of Beaty, Sr. and Maud Hooker and died Sunday June 5, 1994 in Oklahoma City, OK. Mr. Hooker lived all his life around the Alex area except from 1942 to 1945 during which time he served in the U. S. Army under General George Patton in Europe. He and Thelma Wampler were married June 21, 1971 in Wichita Falls, TX. Mr. Hooker was a cattle buyer. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Mondee Augusta Hooker; one sister, Agnus O'Rorke; one brother, Gary Hooker. Survivors include his wife, Thelma Hooker of the home; two sisters, Ilene Rowe of Newton, Kansas, Mattie Holder of Wichita, Kansas; one brother Beaty Hooker, Jr. of Norman, OK; several nieces and nephews. Interment was held in the Alex Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. |
