W. B. Hobbs
December 7, 1904 ~ February 24, 1978


Funeral service for W. B. Hobbs, 73, Alex, will be 2 pm Monday in the Alex High School auditorium under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. John Malone, minister of the West Side Church of Christ, will officiate.

Mr. Hobbs was born December 7, 1904, in Sulphur Springs, Texas. He died Friday in Grady Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health several months.

He and Bertha Cassmeyer were married on March 11, 1944, in Jefferson City, Mo. He moved to Alex 28 years ago and owned and operated his barber shop since that time.

He was a member of the West Side Church of Christ in Alex.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy Hobbs in 1970, and Anthony Cassmeyer in 1974, and two granddaughters, Sheral Lynn Mason in 1972 and Rebecca Cassmeyer in 1975.

Survivors include his wife, Bertha, of the home' two sons, Richard Cassmeyer and Roy Hobbs, both of Oklahoma City' eight daughters, Dorothy Moore, Oklahoma City, Charlene Mason and Marcy Bowen, both of Chickasha, Marie Mason of Newcastle, Rachill McCollium of Groves, Texas, Francis Pattillo, Sulphur Springs, Texas, Mary Jane Hefner of Alex, and Betty Rousey of Palmdale, Calif.; one brother, L. L. Hobbs of Lawton' one sister, Lillian Gross of Tahlequah; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Interment will be in Alex Cemetery.

Mrs. Bertha E. Hobbs
April 22, 1914 ~ June 25, 1981


Funeral for Mrs. Bertha E. Hobbs, 67, Alex, will be at 3:30 pm Thursday, June 25, 1981, in the West Side Church of Christ, Alex.

Mrs. Hobbs was born April 22, 1914, in Rich Fountain, Mo., and died Tuesday, June 23, 1981, in Grady Memorial Hospital.

Bertha and W. B. Hobbs were married March 11, 1944, in Jefferson City, Mo. She had moved to Alex in 1950 from Keys. She had been in failing health for several years.

Mrs. Hobbs was a member of the West Side Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W. B. Hobbs on Feb. 24, 1978; two sons, James Hobbs in January, 1970, and Anthony "Tony" Cassmeyer in 1974; and three grandchildren.

Survivors include six daughters, Dorothy Jones of Meridian, Miss., Charlene Mason of Mt. Park, Marie Mason of Newcastle, Mary Hefner of Alex, Betty Rousey of Palmdale, Calif., and Marcy Rowen of Lancaster, Calif.; two sons, Richard Cassmeyer of Oklahoma City and Roy Hobbs of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Gus Billet of Freeburg, Mo., and Harold Billet of Houston, Texas; 22 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Interment will be in Alex Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
