March 2, 2015 Alfred Frank Hess September 1, 1926 ~ March 2, 2015 Service for Alfred Frank Hess, 88, will be Friday, March 6. Funeral service for Alfred Frank Hess, age 88 of Alex, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2015 in the Alex United Methodist Church. Rev. Sue Lykins will officiate. Alfred Frank was born the son of John Hess and Bettie Drake Hess on September 1, 1926 in Alex. He died on March 2, 2015 at this home in Alex. He married Faye Stuard on August 7, 1965 in Scott County, Kentucky. Frank lived most of his life in Alex and graduated from Alex High School. After graduation, he entered the United States Army and served during World War II. He returned to Alex and worked as a butcher in a grocery store. Frank later worked for the United States Post Office at Alex and Lindsay as a postal clerk. For many years, he was the voice of the Alex Longhorns. He was an avid quail hunter. Frank was a member of the Alex United Methodist Church where he had served as youth worker and Sunday School teacher. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Bettie Hess; sister Lenora Parsley. Survivors include his wife Faye Hess of Alex; niece Carolyn Williams of Pampa, Texas; nephew Larry Parsley of Clay Center, Kansas; niece Ann Talley of Stillwater; nephew Rick Parsley and son Garrett of Lindsay; sister-in-law Louise Bell of Alex. Interment will be in the Alex Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. |
