Billy Jack "Jack"
May 3, 1925 ~ April 17, 1969


Billy Jack Green was a security officer in Dallas, TX when he was shot and killed in 1969. Upon his passing, he was buried in a Dallas Cemetery but later was transported by Sevier's Funeral Home to be buried in the Alex Cemetery so that he and his wife, Elwanda, might be buried together when she passed.

Funeral services for Elwanda C. Greenwood, 77, of Alex, Okla., are pending with Sevier Funeral Home. She was born January 4, 1927, and died on Sunday April 11, 2004, in Chickasha.

Graveside service for Elwanda C. Greenwood, 77, of Alex, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 15, 2004, at the Alex Cemetery.

Elwanda C. Greenwood was born January 4, 1927, northeast of Alex, Oklahoma, the daughter of E. A. and Lizzie [Schumpert] Pike, and died April 11, 2004, in Chickasha.

Mrs. Greenwood grew up in the Hawkins community. She graduated from CHS in 1944. She received her nursing degree from Baylor University Nursing School. She was charge nurse for 10 years at the Baylor University Hospital. From 1965 to 1995, she was head nurse and assistant to Dr. Joe Gordan, a family practitioner and surgeon in Dallas, Texas.

Mrs. Greenwood had lived in Alex for the past 8 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Jack Greenwood, in 1969; three sisters, Winnie Disney, Allie Kelling, and Gladys Buchannan; three brothers, Maurice Pike, Bill Pike and Gene Pike; dear friend and special companion, Roy Fewell.

Survivors include one sister, Xelpho Cox of Alex, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, Rheta Pike, of Chickasha; several nieces and nephews, including Loretta and Durl Burton and family of Alex, Oklahoma, Ileta and Alan Duffle and family of Alex, Hal and Rhonda Pike and family of Chickasha, Louann Talley of Missouri; other numerous nieces and nephews; other family and friends, including Cosette and Mack Crews of Texas, Roy and Sheila Fewell and family of California, and Charles and Florence Bennedict and family of Texas.

Interment will be in the Alex Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
