Gwendolyn [Stewart] Fry Brookins
February 18, 1938 ~ October 14, 2018


Gwendolyn Fry Brookins, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018 in Oklahoma City at the age of 80. Gwen was born February 18, 1938 in Alex, Oklahoma to Albert and Hazel [Stapp] Stewart.

Gwen married Donald C. Fry and he preceded her in death on September 18, 2000. She married Berry “B.F.” Brookins in 2005.

In the 1950s, she worked as an air traffic controller in Deming, New Mexico at a local airport. She had also worked as a florist for Betty Lou’s Flowers & Gifts in Norman for 10 years. She is member of Penn South Church of Christ.

She is also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Gwen is survived by her husband Berry Franklin Brookins; Children: Karen Bash, Connie Blue and Tom Fry; Stepchildren: Catherine Valentino, Greg Brookins and Chris Brookins; She also had raised Kelli Carnes, 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren
