September 1978 George Robert Foster June 4, 1929 ~ September 22, 1978 Funeral service for Robert Foster, 49, of 125 Orchard Drive, will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Alex High School Auditorium with Rev. Charles Hall of Davis, officiating. He was born June 4, 1929 in Alex and passed away September 22, 1978 due to a drowning accident while on vacation in Acaupulco. He and Doris turner were married August 17, 1945 in Chickasha. He had lived in Alex most of his life and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alex. He moved to Chickasha from Alex in February of this year. Mr. Foster was a member of the Alex Masonic Lodge #457 and of the Guthrie Consistery. He was employed at the Grady Memorial Hospital as Maintenance Supervisor. He had worked there for 10 years. Survivors are: Doris of the home; 1 son, Gerald Foster of Houston; 1 daughter, Mrs. Susan Car of Alex; 4 grandchildren; 2 brothers, J. R. Foster of Alvin, Texas, Allen Foster of Allen, Texas; 1 sister, Miss Madeline Foster of Alex; his mother, Mrs. Annie Foster of Alex. Masonic Rites will be conducted by the Alex Masonic Lodge. Interment will be in the Alex Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Hall of Davis and Rev. V. E. Gibson of Alex officiated. Masonic graveside rites were conducted by Russell Long of Chickasha Lodge No. 94. Music was provided by the Main Street Church of Christ choir. Active pallbearers were: Jim Sorrells, Kenny Self, Zane Williams, Barry Burton, Dale Morgan, A. J. Jarvis, Ernie Teer and Kent Hoskins. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Alex Masonic Lodge No. 457. Interment was in Alex Cemetery. |
