© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Monday, February 12, 2007 Xelpho "Sis" [Pike] Cox September 26, 1918 ~ February 10, 2007 Funeral service for Xelpho "Sis" Cox, age 88 of Alex, Oklahoma will be held 1:30 pm Tuesday February 13, 2007 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home in Chickasha. Xelpho "Sis" Cox was born September 26, 1918, the daughter of Emery Andrew and Lizzie Mae (Schumpert) Pike on the family farm North East of Alex in the Hawkins Community. She departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior on February 10, 2007. Xelpho Pike and Everett J. Cox were married on December 1, 1935 in the Ireton Community. They farmed in that area North East of Alex for many years. They moved to Alex in 1955 where they owned and operated a fishing tackle-bait shop for several years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Everett Cox, her parents, three brothers Maurice, Bill and Gene Pike. Four sisters Gladys Buchannan, Winnie Disney, Allie Keeling and Elwanda Greenwood. Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law: Loretta Mae and Durl Ray Burton of Alex, Oklahoma; three grandsons and their wives: David and Jackie Burton, Barry and Leigh Ann Burton, and Steve and Robin Burton all of Alex, Oklahoma; six great-grand children: Jennifer Raye Burton, Linsey Burton, Whitney Burton, Courtney Burton, Ashley Burton and Steven Burton, Jr.; she is also survived by several step-great-grand children. Other survivors include: sister-in-law Ramona Jo Brashears and husband Roland; and sister-in-law Rheta Pike all of Chickasha. Several Nieces and Nephews. Interment will be in the Alex Cemetery, Alex Oklahoma, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. |
