Ruby Florence [Simmons] Chapman
June 6, 1919 ~ November 30, 2000


Funeral services for Ruby Florence Chapman, 81, of Chickasha, will be held Monday, December 4, 2000, at 10:30 a.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gene Hankins officiating.

Ruby Florence Chapman was born June 6, 1919 in Iona, Oklahoma, the daughter of John W. Simmons and Mabel Smith Simmons.

She died November 30, 2000 in Chickasha.

Ruby grew up in the Maysville, Oklahoma, area where she attended Story School near Maysville.

On August 31, 1938, Ruby and Rufus R. "Pete" Chapman were married in Alex, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on April 3, 1997.

Ruby was a housewife and loving mother. She was also a member of the Main Street Baptist Church of Alex.

She is preceded in death by her husband, both parents, two sisters, three brothers, one grandson and two great grandsons. One infant son, Richard Doyle Chapman preceded her in 1948.

Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Venita and Albert Parker of Bradley, Oklahoma; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Carolyn Chapman of Chickasha; three sisters, Faye Russell of Portland, Oregon, Laurie Nye of Phoenix, Arizona, and Ollie Jeffcoat of Rush Springs, Oklahoma; five grandchildren and their spouses, eleven great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Interment will be in the Alex Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
