Hiwanah Joan [Stewart] Cassmeyer Wood
May 6, 1940 ~ September 3, 2010


CHICKASHA - Funeral service for Hiwanah Joan Cassmeyer Wood, 70, of Rush Springs and formerly of Alex, were held at 1:30 p.m, Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at the Main Street Church of Christ in Alex.

Hiwanah Joan Cassmeyer Wood was born May 6, 1940 at Alex. She was the daughter of Robert and Annie [Bedford] Stewart. She died Friday September 3, 2010 in Duncan.

She married Anthony "Tony" Cassmeyer; he preceded her in death in 1974.

She later married Wylie Wood. Joan has lived in Rush Springs since 1982.

She was a member of the Alex Main Street Church of Christ.

Her parents and two daughters, Shirley Crosby and Becky Cassmeyer preceded her in death. Four brothers Buford, Leonard, Bobby Joe and Elmer Stewart also preceded her in death.

Survivors include one son: Clem Cassmeyer and his wife Marletta of Alex; grandchildren: Rebecca Owens and Husband Cody of Mesa, Ariz., Samuel Cassmeyer and wife Elaena of Chickasha, Michael Cassmeyer of Alex, Raymond Bradley who is in the Air Force and wife Jennifer, Brian Bradley and wife Daphine of Pueblo, Colo., Merinda Bradley and husband James of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; great grand children: Tyson Owens, Pyper Bradley, Renea Bradley, Tyson Bradley, Chase Bradley and Allison Bradley; and two sisters: Oquanah Hughes and Amaleta Hightower.

Interment will be in the Alex Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Richard August Cassmeyer
November 18, 1937 ~ September 15, 1996


Funeral service for Richard August Cassmeyer, 59, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 17, 1996, in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.

Richard August Cassmeyer was born November 18, 1937, in Westphalia, Missouri, the son of Winfry "Bill" and Bertha Hobbs, and died Sunday, September 15, 1996, in Chickasha.

Mr. Cassmeyer lived most of his life in the Oklahoma City and Newcastle area, moving to Chickasha 12 years ago.

He was a cement worker and had served in the United States Navy.

Mr. Cassmeyer was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister, and one niece.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Cassmeyer of the home; one step-daughter, Rhonda Brewer of Chickasha; two step-sons, Ronald Brewer of Owasso, and Randy Brewer of Chickasha; five sisters, Charlene Mason of Chickasha, Marie Mason of Blanchard, Mary Hefner of Alex, Betty Riusey of Palmdale, California, and Mary Clary of California City, California; one brother, Roy Hobbs of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Interment will be in the Alex Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
