© Chickasha Express~Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Tuesday, October 20, 1992 Lola Ellen Rogers Carr March 11, 1902 ~ October 18, 1992 Funeral for Lola E. Carr, 90, Alex, was held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 1992, in the Alex High School Auditorium. Buford Stewart and Bill Evans officiated. Music was provided by the "Prism Quartet" composed of Mark Byrne, Danny Stewart, Greg Peery and Coye Langford. Pallbearers were Cem Cassmeyer, Jim Stewart, Dewayne Cockrum, Parke Anderson, Boyd Langford, Bill Palmer. Honorary pallbearers were Fred Cope, Leonard Stewart, Varnell Nichols, Clyde McKee. Survivors include two children, eight brothers, three sisters, six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Interment was in Alex Cemetery, Alex, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. Lola Rogers was married to Lester Carr on April 22, 1928 in Pauls Valley, Garvin County, OK by Lee L. Reeves, Minister of the Gospel, Baptist Church. |

Carr was born September 28, 1935 in Alex, Oklahoma to Roy and Dora [Shackleford] Simmons. She passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015 in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 79. Mrs. Carr lived in Alex all her life until 2001 when she moved to Tecumseh, OK. She married Lindsay L. Carr, Jr. on August 27, 1955 in Chickasha, OK. She was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ. She is preceded in death by her husband Lindsay L. Carr and a daughter, Teresa Carr and her parents. Mrs. Carr is survived by 2 daughters: Twila Carr and Deanna Banta 2 brothers: A.B. Simmons and Fred Simmons. A sister, Margaret Lile. |
