Aubrey John Stratton "Jay" Bentley
February 16, 1922 ~ August 9, 1996


Aubrey J. "Jay" Bentley, of Duncan, Okla., died Friday, August 9, 1996, in Oklahoma City. He was 74.

Graveside services for Aubrey J. "Jay" Bentley will be held at 10:30 a.m., August 12 at the Alex Cemetery in Alex, Okla.

Aubrey J. "Jay" Bentley was born February 16, 1922 in Walnut Creek, Okla., the son of Fred Bentley and his wife, Eugene Helms.

He and Vada Cochran were married September 17, 1956 in Crowell, Texas. She preceded him in death September 7, 1980.

He later married Janet Hampton on June 2, 1990 in Carbon Hill, Ala.

Survivors include: Janet Bentley of the home; three daughters, Connie Adaire of Perry, Sharon Neddles and Mary Sue Needles, both of Cottonwood, Calif.; one son, Allen Jay Bentley of Yukon; six granddaughters and two grandsons; one brother, Victor Bentley of Bethany and three sisters, Ralpheline Carter of Purcell, Donafred Smith of Alamagordo, N.M., and Geneva Jackson of Carlton, Mich.

Bentley was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Aubrey John Bentley, two sisters and one brother.

Interment will be in the Alex Cemetery in Alex, Okla., under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home in Chickasha.
