May 18, 2010 Hubert Alton Watson October 5, 1923 ~ July 8, 1998 Hubert Alton Watson, 86, of Davis was born October 5, 1923, in Wynnewood to Luke and Mable [Stone] Watson and died May 18, 2010, in Ardmore. Funeral services were May 21 at Hale's Memorial Chapel. Burial was at Wynnewood View Cemetery. He married Billy Ruth Stephens on July 5, 1952, in Biloxi, Miss., and she preceded him in death July 8, 1998. He joined the U.S. Navy and later pursued a career with the U.S. Air Force. While enlisted, he served during World War II, the Japanese Theater, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1974. He is survived by a son, Joseph Watson of Davis, and a grandson. |
July 8, 1998 Billie Ruth [Stephens] Watson April 26, 1927 ~ July 8, 1998 Services for Billie R. Watson will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fox Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Finis Steelman officiating. Interment will follow at Wynnewood View Cemetery. Mrs. Watson died July 8, 1998, in the Sulphur hospital. She was born April 26, 1927, at Wedowee, Ala., to Jasper and Willie Wood Stephens. She and Hubert A. Watson were married July 5, 1952, at Biloxi, Miss. She is survived by her husband, of the home; a daughter, Mary Marney, Harriman, Tenn.; a son, Joseph, Davis; three sisters, Betty Jo Strickland, Florida, Wilma Kerr, Alabama, and Ann Louise Price, North Carolina; and a grandson. Bearers will be Royce D. Jones, Bud Sutton, Dale and Dean Noland. |
