April 19, 1941 Laura Alice [Broom] Brassfield February 5, 1879 ~ April 9, 1941 Funeral services were held at Wynnewood View cemetery last Thursday for Mrs. Alice Brassfield, age 63, who died at her home at Sunshine, 3 1/2 miles northeast of Davis early Wednesday morning, April 9. Mrs. Brassfield was a pioneer of the county, having come here with her husband, T. A. Brassfield about 30 years ago from Texas. Survivors include her husband, three daughter, Mrs. Jim Balcom of Arizona, Miss Jessie Brassfield of Sunshine, Mrs. Fay Palmer of Colorado; two sister, Mrs. Cass Gibbs of Healdton and Mrs. Ed Crawford of Davis; and three brothers, J.W. Broom of Oklahoma City, I.A. Broom of Iona, and L.E. Broom of Valley View. Dunn Funeral Home was in charge. |
August 9, 1941 Odessa Brassfield 1910 ~ August 9, 1928 Miss Odessa Brassfield, aged 18 years, died Tuesday evening at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Brassfield, four miles southeast of Davis. Burial was had in the cemetery at Wynnewood View Wednesday afternoon. She attended school in Davis the past two years and was beloved by her classmates, and had lots of friends. Her death was due to typhoid fever, and her illness lasted only a few days. |
