He passed from this life on May 8, 2016 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at his home in Pauls Valley after a long battle with cancer. Services are scheduled for Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at 2:00 pm at the Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance. Aldon Preston from the Starlight Ministries in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Terry Clayton, Pastor of the First Church of God in Pauls Valley will officiate. The burial will be at the Whitebead Cemetery. Professional services and interment are under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. He was known on the Panthers Football team as "Johnny Take Five" and "Johnny Meal". He was also a 4-year starter for the Panther Baseball Team. He left lots of memories of his talented ability in athletics. Johnny was self-employed as a construction worker, but the work he enjoyed most was building custom fences. In 2006, Johnny married the love of his life, Penni Potter Morse in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, where they still reside. Johnny is the son of, Janie Sheppard Morse-Gregory and Melvin "Butch" Lewis Morse. Johnny is survived by his wife, Penni, of the home; father-in-law, Richard and wife Doris Potter od Bella Vista, Arkansas; Johnny's mother, Janie Sheppard Morse-Gregory and husband, Billy J. Gregory; his son, Justin Morse and wife, Jennifer and two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Eli Morse of Maysville, OK; brother, Clint Lewis Morse and wife, Verna; nieces, Desire' and Cristin McCubbins and nephew, Ben McCubbins of Pauls Valley; and a special niece, Sarah Hope Morse and friend, Chany Lewis of Pauls Valley, OK; a very special brother-in-law, Danny Potter of Pauls Valley; brother in law, Eddie and wife Vivian Potter of Littleton, Colorado; sister-in-law, Paula Potter of Reno, Nevada; Donnell Fulton of Colorado; Darice and husband, Terry Van Buren of West Minister, Colorado and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A very special uncle, Jerrall Caldwell and cousins, Tammy Delaplain, Chris Caldwell and Mark Caldwell, Susan "Tootie" Jones, whom he grew up with and shared many memories. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Lewis "Butch" Morse in 2001; his step son, Chad Hatfield in 2000; his maternal granddad, James Horace Sheppard and grandmother, Edith Sheppard; great grandmother, Mary Ann Sheppard; paternal grandparents, Gladys Willis Morse and his special granny, Delitha Love Morse; and his special aunt, Margie Morse Caldwell. |
