© Stufflebean~Coffey Funeral Home Pauls Valley, Oklahoma February 7, 2014 Wilburn Colson Jr June 17, 1943 ~ February 7, 2014 Wilburn Colson, Jr., of Norman, passed away February 7, 2014 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 70 years. Wilburn was born June 17, 1943 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Wilburn Haskell Colson, Sr. and Hazel LaVera [Burgess] Colson. He was raised in Pauls Valley and attended Pauls Valley schools. Following graduation he attended the Okmulgee Technology School and earned his Certificate in Heating and Air Conditioning. He returned to Pauls Valley and worked a time for Trahern Heating and Air. Later he moved to Norman and began working for Engineering Sales. It was not long that he opened the Colson Heat and Air in Norman and has served Norman residents since May 14, 1983. He and Patricia Current Stewart were married in Norman, Oklahoma on October 18, 1997. Wilburn loved the outdoors especially shooting clay pigeons with his friends. He would most likely be found at the Professional Bull Riders, PBR, when they came to town or travelling to the finals; he also loved to hunt and fish. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn Colson, Sr. and Hazel LaVera Colson, brother in law, Kenneth Pool. Surviving family include his wife, Pat Colson, of the home; children, Valorie Joy and her husband, Bryan, of Norman; and Marvin Stewart, of Pauls Valley; grandchildren, The Joy children- Tyler, Tanner, Trevor and Madison, and The Stewart family - Cole, Taylor, Dylan, Dakota, and Brittnee; brother, Larry Don Colson and his wife, Deborah, of Norman; sister, DeAnna Pool of Oklahoma City; and a host of nieces and nephews and, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Rev. Jimmy Dehart. Interment will be at Whitebead Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. |
