© Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home Oklahoma City, Oklahoma February 2008 June 5, 1941 ~ February 8, 2008 Arthur DeWayne "Barney" Barnes, devoted husband, father, son, brother and papa, has gone to be with the Lord. DeWayne leaves behind his loving wife Gwen, 3 daughters, Lori, Jina, Wendy and son, Jeffery; his mother, Leona; and sisters, Shari, Jana and DeNell. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren: Tyler, Jaden, Korbyn; and son-in-law Kurt. He was preceded in death by his father, Omer Barnes & paternal & maternal grandparents. DeWayne was born in Tipton, OK, on June 5, 1941, the son of Omer and Leona Barnes. DeWayne passed in peace February 4, 2008, in Arlington, TX. DeWayne married Alma Gwen Barnes on June 18, 1960. They have had 47 years together. DeWayne was a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army until 1967 when he joined the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. He served and protected the people for 23 years of his life while on the OHP. He retired from OHP in June of 1990 and went to work for Oklahoma Tank Lines. DeWayne had a very strong love for his family, God and fishing. DeWayne was a devoted Christian, he was a deacon in the First Baptist Church in Blackwell, OK, until he and his family moved to Oklahoma City. Our husband and father is now at peace. We love you so very much and will miss you with all our hearts, and we will be together again. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008, at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel, with interment at Purdy, OK. Oklahoma Highway Patrol Chaplain Sam Garner will conduct services. |
