Wanda June [Southwell] Wilson
February 27, 1936 ~ November 27, 2018


Wanda June Wilson, of Lawton, passed away November 27, 2018 in Lawton, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years.

Wanda June Southwell was born February 27, 1936 in Paoli, Oklahoma to Willie Pearl [McIntyre] Southwell and David James Southwell.

She grew up in the Paoli area of Garvin County.

Following graduation, she and Troy Lee Wilson were married on May 29, 1954 in Belton, Texas. He went on to serve in the United States Army and retired after 25 years of service. She, too, served in the Civil Service for 25 years until her retirement in 1988.

After retirement she worked in numerous jobs and moved to various places to call home including: Colorado Springs, Colorado, many years in Delta Junction, Alaska, then, later, to Lake LaGrange, Indiana, and to Purcell, Oklahoma until the passing of her husband in November 2017. Soon afterward, she moved to Lawton to be closer to her daughter, Charlotte. June was a member of Lighthouse Worship Center in Purcell, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David James and Willie Pearl Southwell; her husband, Troy Lee Wilson; her son, David Lee Wilson and grandson, Teague Douglas Miller.

Her surviving family include her children, Charlotte Ann Miller and husband, Gary, of Lawton; Crystal Lynne Meyers and husband, Ed, of Paoli; and Jessie Lee Williams; her daughter in law, Andrea Wilson, of Sulphur; two grandchildren, Troy Miller and Michael Miller; six great grandchildren, Makayla, Jesse, Kira, Kianna, Kyden and Lenni; brother, Lee Southwell of Texas; brother in law, Eddie Wilson of Carnegie; sisters in law, Pat Spencer of Wynnewood; Catherine Nix of Moore; and Juanita Zellner of Norman; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to say a special "Thank you" to the Ten Oaks Place Assisted Living Community for their love and care during the past year.

A visitation for family and friends is scheduled for Friday, November 30 from 5pm until 7pm at the Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.

Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Paoli Cemetery officiated by Rev. Jeff Pierce. Interment will be at Paoli Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
