© Stufflebean~Coffey Funeral Home Pauls Valley, Oklahoma October 8, 2006 Joe Lee Wigley November 2, 1934 ~ October 8, 2006 Joe Lee Wigley, of Paoli was born November 2, 1934 in Wayne, Oklahoma to Joseph Leo Wigley and Lillian Franklin Wigley. He passed away October 8, 2006 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 71 years. Joe Lee was married to Wanda Jo Pearson in Paoli, Oklahoma on June 19, 1954. He owned and operated Wigley Gas Company. He was a member and song leader of the Church of Christ. Paoli has been his home all of his life. Joe served as Paoli Mayor for 2 terms and also served on the city council and was a member of the Pauls Valley Round-Up Club. He enjoyed camping and being outdoors. The main thing in his life was his family; especially the grandchildren playing basketball and being in the rodeo. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Leo Wigley. Surviving family include his wife, Wanda Jo Wigley of Paoli; 4 children, Terry Lee Wigley and his wife, Sheryl of Pauls Valley, Sheila Wardwell and her husband, Dwayne, of Paoli, Kristy Gunter and her husband, John, of Paoli; and Lora Jo Wigley of Paoli; 1 brother, Jimmy Wright of Wynnewood; his mother, Lillian McQueary, of Pauls Valley; 7 grandchildren, Aaron Wardwell, Justin Jones, Suzannah Delaplain, Cody Wigley, Lain Underwood, Lexie Wigley and Dakota Weaver; 5 great grandchildren, Maggie Jones, Cooper Jones, Cali Wigley, Brock Wardwell, Matt Towler, and one on the way. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 12, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Fred Butler. Burial will be at Paoli Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. |
