October 19, 2010 Harley Lee Watson October 10, 1922 ~ October 16, 2010 Harley Lee Watson, 88, of Del City, OK, went to be with the Lord October 16, 2010. He was born in Paoli, OK, to James Henry and Verdie [Baker] Watson. In his early years, he was a farmer in Paoli and Pauls Valley area. He joined the United States Navy in 1942, where he served as a second-class yeoman. Harley is survived by his two sons: Ronald Lee Watson and his wife Karen of Oklahoma City, James Michael Watson and wife Mindy of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Masons and a longtime member of Single Square, Spirit of 76 Square Dancing Organization. He was also 1st President of Single Rounds, Round Dancing, which he helped found. Harley loved woodworking and hand painting. He also wrote short stories and claimed to be an armadillo farmer. Harley is preceded in death by his loving wife, Kathleen Faye Watson, who went to be with the Lord March 23, 1976. The family wants to give special thanks to Christine Marshall, his home health caregiver, and the health care facility that cared for Harley during his time of illness. Harley loved the Lord and attended the First Presbyterian Church of Midwest City. Family visitation will be Wednesday evening, 7-9 p.m., at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, at First Presbyterian Church of Midwest City, with committal service at Paoli Cemetery, Paoli, OK, at 2:00 p.m. |
