Jerry Dale Ward Sr
February 13, 1948 ~ November 13, 2005


Jerry Ward, of Paoli was born February 13, 1948 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. He passed away November 13, 2005 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 57 years.

Jerry lived in Paoli all of his life. He graduated from Paoli High School and attended East Central University. Jerry served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam.

Jerry was married to Jo Ann Dixon at the Paoli 1st United Methodist Church on April 22, 1976. He was a member of the Paoli 1st United Methodist. Jerry was active in his church and community. He served on the Paoli School Board for 10 years.

Jerry owned and operated the Ward Trucking Company. He enjoyed life one day at a time. He had a real passion for O. U. football. He loved his family and was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother & uncle.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Bill Gross; and one son, Jerry D. Ward II in 1998, and one very special nephew, Colt Sutton.

Surviving family include his wife, Jo Ann Ward of the home in Paoli; son, Jason Ward of Oklahoma City; mother, Opal Gross of Gore; 2 sisters, Donna Goff of Gore; and Sammie Bennett of Vinita as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 17, 2005 at 10:00 am at Stufflebean Chapel officiated by Rev. Terry Erwin and Robert Harrison.

Burial will be at Paoli Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
