© Stufflebean~Coffey Funeral Home Pauls Valley, Oklahoma January 21, 2009 Mertie Lee [Freeman] Wadley December 13, 1913 ~ January 21, 2009 Mertie Lee Wadley of Pauls Valley was born December 13, 1913 in Hugo, Oklahoma, the second of five children to Samuel Franklin Freeman and Nina Mae Alexander Freeman. After a battle with cancer, she passed from this life on January 21, 2009 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 95 years. Mertie had lived in Pauls Valley most of her life and was retired from the Pauls Valley State School. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, two brothers, her husband Edd "Shorty" Wadley and two great grandsons, Donnie Scott Sanders and Dakota Lane Deavers. She is survived by her five children and their spouses: Dorothy and E.B. Byrd of Pauls Valley, Ouida Duckworth of Duncan, Neva and Donnie Owens of Pauls Valley, Eddie and Bobby Kelley of Paoli, and Freeman "Corky" and Debbie Wadley of Paoli; one sister, Bertie Woods of Pauls Valley; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins throughout the state. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Jim and Danny McCann, Barry and Gary Byrd, Scott and Kevin Sanders, Rance Wadley and Chris Owens. Honorary bearers will be Troy Whitefield, Mitch Basket, Doug Byrant and Brent Synder. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 23, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Stufflebean Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Pastor Ron Lindsey of Suburban Church of Moore and Pastor Mike Martinez of New Testament Church of Pauls Valley. Interment will be at Paoli Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. |
