© Stufflebean~Coffey Funeral Home Pauls Valley, Oklahoma April 6, 2004 Nellie [Magill] Crum Tuley September 4, 1910 ~ April 6, 2004 Nellie [Magill] Crum Tuley, of Paoli was born September 4, 1910 in Custer County, Oklahoma to Lillie and Ralph O. Magill. She passed away April 6, 2004 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 93 years. Nellie received her education in Custer City schools and graduated in 1927. She began teaching in Custer County at age 18. She received her bachelor degree from Southwestern State University in Weatherford in 1942. Until 1944 she taught in various one room schools in Custer and Dewey Counties. In that year she moved to make Pauls Valley her home. She taught at Jackson School from 1944 -1945. She taught at Jefferson Grade School from 1946 until her retirement in 1972. While there she earned her Masters Degree from Oklahoma University in 1948. Nellie was wed to Riley H. Crum in October 1930. Into this union was born one son, Howard. Riley preceded her in death in January 1935. She was married to Dave L. Tuley at Taloga, Oklahoma on September 21, 1942. They lived in Pauls Valley until Dave's death in October 1982, when she moved to Paoli. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Paoli, Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association and Garvin County Retired Teachers until her health forced her to curtail activities. She entered The Pauls Valley Health Care Facility in March 2000, where she made many friends among the employees and other residents. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Riley H. Crum in 1935; and her second husband, Dave L. Tuley in 1982; brother, Albert Fremont Magill in 1941; and her sister, Niath Armstrong in 2003. Survived by her her son and daughter in law, Howard & Jewell Crum, of Paoli; brother, Ralph Magill, of Weatherford; sisters & brothers in law, Lera & A. J. Sawatsky, of Weatherford; and Vera & Marvin Janzen, of Weatherford; 5 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held April 9, 2004 at 2:00 pm at Paoli First Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Don Chambers , Rev. Chuck Samples and Rev. Eddy Mathews. Burial will be at Paoli Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. |
