Friday, February 28, 1997 Cory James Sterling July 7, 1980 ~February 28, 1997 Cory James Sterling, age 16, of Paoli died Friday, February 28, 1997 at Purcell Municipal Hospital following an automobile accident. He was born July 7, 1980 in Purcell, Ok. to Jim Ed and Shelly [Miller] Sterling. He had lived in Paoli since 1986 and was in the 10th grade at Paoli High School. He was a member of FFA and played footbal, basketball and baseball. He loved to be in the outdoors. Cory had an outgoing personality and was loved by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Lucy Lois Sterling and his father James Edward Sterling from Hobart, Oklahoma. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Shelly and Kenneth Craig of the home; his grandparents; Alice and Dale Bast of Paoli; Tommy and Sheri Miller of Elmore City; Major and Pauline Craig of Wayne; and Chipper Nickell of Granite; his great grandmother, Alma Haley of Pauls Valley; one step-brother Kenny Craig of Moore; and one step-sister Michelle Craig of Paoli; many aunts, uncles and other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 1997 at the Paoli Gymnasium, with with Rev. Bruce Hill and Rev. Terry Erwin officiating. Interment was at Paoli Cemetery under the direction of Little's Funeral Home. |
