Stephens, of Moore, formerly of Paoli, was born February 14, 1937 in Paoli, Oklahoma to Walter Nathaniel Shatley and Maggie Onida. She grew up in Paoli, attended school there and graduated from Paoli High School. At 15 years of age Minnie was saved at the First Baptist Church in Paoli. Minnie owned and operated a Daycare in Moore for 35 years. She enjoyed telling nursery rhymes and stories to all the children in daycare as well as her nieces and nephews. Due to her illness she has made her home in Waurika for the past 7 years. She passed away the evening of Monday, August 29, 2005 at Waurika, Oklahoma at the age of 68 years. By her side was a dear dear friend, Edie Talley, who has taken care of her as if she were her mother. Surviving family include her son, Randy Stephens of Waurika; 2 brothers, Walter Shatley and his wife, Ruth of Oklahoma City and Clyde Shatley and his wife, Carlene of Noble; 3 sisters, Lois Wyatt of Texas, Sue Duncan and her husband, Ken of Tahlequah and Virginia Story of California; 2 grandchildren, Dustin and Dana Stephens of Oklahoma City; and her close and dear friend, Edie Talley. Graveside memorial services and interment will be conducted by the family at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 12, 2005 at the Paoli Cemetery. Services for cremation were selected through Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home in Pauls Valley. |
