January 1, 1929 Silas E. "Buck" Rogers October 10, 1881 ~ January 1, 1929 Silas was the son of Silas Green and Cynthia Jane "Cent" [Hoggard] Rogers and the grandson of Wm. Jackson Rogers. He married Miss Emma Burleson, 19 Nov 1900, at the Ardmore Courthouse, Chickasaw Nation, when he was 19, and she was 18. They had a son, Silas Green Rogers, born 13 Oct 1902, who died at the age of 2, on 24 Aug 1905. He is also buried in the Paoli Cemetery. Mr. Rogers, age 47, married Sarah Shaver, about 1910 and died at the home of his wife's mother, Mrs. Andy Shaver, 1013 E. 18th. Survivors: His wife; three brothers, John, Coalgate, OK; Bert, Springdale, AR, and James, Byars, OK; and a sister, Mrs. J.S. Price, Brownfield, TX. Capital City Lodge No. 518 Masonic funeral services were held at Hahn Funeral Home, with Rev. Rupert M. Nancy officiating. |
August 12, 1905 Silas Green Rogers III October 3, 1902 ~ August 12, 1905 Silas was the son of Emma Frances [Burleson] Rogers & Silas E. "Buck" Rogers. He was the grandson of Laura Alice [Miller] Burleson Yoakum and Rev. William Price Burleson. About 1910 his father married Sarah Shaffer/Shaver, and in 1912, his mother married Marvin Higgins. |
