© Havenbrook Funeral Home Norman, Oklahoma August 19, 2012 Betty Mae Randolph September 3, 1926 ~ August 19, 2012 Randolph, Betty Mae, age 85, passed away August 19, 2012 in Norman. Betty was born September 3, 1926 in McClain County, Oklahoma to Sidney Russell Randolph and Lena Belle Bruington Randolph. The family lived in the Randolph Community west of Paoli, Oklahoma where Betty attended the Moore grade school. In 1941, she moved with her family to Petersburg, Texas and graduated from Petersburg High School in 1945. She then graduated from the Draughon School of Business in Lubbock, Texas and lived a short time in California. After moving to Norman in 1955, Betty worked for the City of Norman and later was employed by Security National Bank, retiring in 1986 as an officer in the credit department. The centerpieces of Betty's life were her faith and her family. She was a devout Christian and was a faithful member of Berry Road Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She loved vacations and traveling, was an avid reader and enjoyed working puzzles, and was a huge OU football fan, but the highlight of each year was the large family reunion held at Lake Texoma. She devoted her life to loving and caring for her family, both immediate and extended. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Peggy Jean Randolph and one brother, Thomas Coffey Randolph. She is survived by two brothers and one sister, Sidney Russell Randolph, Jr. and wife Martha of Oklahoma City; Paul Rhett Randolph and wife Diane of Edmond, OK; Ramona James and husband Dr. Don James of Wichita, Kansas and sister-in-law Doris Randolph of Norman. Other survivors include ten nieces and nephews and their spouses and 23 great nieces and nephews. Services to celebrate Betty's life will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 23, 2012 in the Chapel of the Havenbrook Funeral Home. Arrangements for Betty and her family were placed in the care of the Vice Family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman. |
