© Stufflebean~Coffey Funeral Home Pauls Valley, Oklahoma June 6, 2005 February 7, 1916 ~ June 6, 2005 Evelyn Mary Stiffarm Morris, of Paoli was born February 7, 1916 in Fort Belknap, Montana to Alphonsus and Phoebe [Bell] Stiffarm. She passed away June 6, 2005 at Ardmore, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years. In 1936 she and Arthur Morris were married. They have lived in Montana, New York and California. In 1976, they moved to make their home in Paoli and was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church. Evelyn was proud of her Indian Heritage and was a member of the Gros Ventre Tribe in Montana. She loved her Pow Wows and quilting as well as family gatherings with her children and grandchildren. She always had a house full. She will be missed so much. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur, on January 13, 1989; a son, Robert Clinton Morris on November 19, 1971; 2 grandson, Jerry Dale Ward, September 26, 1998; R. C. Ott on November 19, 1998. Surviving family include her children, Charles L. Morris of Douglas, Wyoming, Patricia J. Dixon of Paoli, Arthur T. Morris of Harlem, Montana, Roberta C. Carney, Lora Hatfield and Mary Ott, all of Paoli, and Catherine Johnson of Woodland Park, Colorado; 27 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Catherine Halver of Malta, Montana; 2 brothers, Alphonsus Stiffarm of Harlem, Montana and Benjamin Stiffarm of Billings, Montana; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Rosary will be held the evening of Thursday, June 9, 2005, at 7:00 p.m. in the Stufflebean Chapel at the Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 10, 2005 at 10:00 pm at St. Catherine's Catholic Church officiated by Fr. Mike Vaught. Burial will be at Paoli Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. |
