Waymond Lewis
July 22, 1933 ~ June 22, 2009


Waymond Lewis was called to his Heavenly home June 22, 2009. He was born July 22, 1933 in Mill Creek, OK to Mozelle and A. J. Lewis.

Waymond was a 1951 graduate of Sulphur High School.

He attended East Central State College in Ada, OK, where he met his wife to be, Emily Mauldin of Paoli, OK, marrying in March 1955.

After a 4-year Army tour, he finished his education at Central State College in Edmond and OU, graduating with a degree in engineering. He was an aerospace engineer at Tinker AFB for 32 years, where he was a specialist on a number of jet engines, traveling extensively, solving engine problems.

He was a good friend and caring supervisor to many fellow workers. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, boating, camping, gardening and most of all his RV.

For a number of years, he and Emily were active as State Teen Directors in National Campers and Hikers Association, traveling with their children and friends.

Waymond was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Bradley; and grandson, Chris.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Emily; sons: Alan and wife Viki of Oceanside, CA and Cameron and wife Kory of OKC; 4 grandchildren: Matthew, Elise, Jaymes and Caylie. Memorial services will be Monday, June 29, at 1:00 PM at Advantage South Chapel, with burial in Paoli, OK at 2:30.
