December 2001 December 17, 1913 ~ December 23, 2001 Funeral for Edith Inez James, 88, Ardmore, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. R.W. Whalen and the Rev. John Genn officiating. Burial will be in the Paoli Cemetery. A Sasakwa native, Mrs. James was born December 17, 1913, to the late Walker I. and Maude Rose Tilley. She died Sunday at Southbrook Nursing Home in Ardmore. Married to Jimmie W. James on October 22, 1932, in Wayne, and they lived happily married for more than 62 years. She was a loving mother, homemaker and wife. She had lived in Ardmore for the past 35 years. She was a devoted member of the United Pentecostal Church. She went to be with her Lord Jesus on Dec. 23, 2001. Her husband preceded her in death on March 19, 1995. Also preceding her in death were a sister, Edna, and two brothers, Dewey and Robert. Survivors include a son, K.E. "Neal" James; two brothers, Jack and wife Lois, Rossville, Ga., and Jimmy, Parsons, Kans.; two sisters, Evelyn, Ardmore, and Betty and husband, Robert, Tulsa; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a dear lifetime sister in Christ, Mozelle Trent, Ardmore. The family will receive friends at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. |
