Beatrice Arlene [Rickels] Ham
April 20, 1913 ~ December 30, 1999


Beatrice Ham, 86, died Thursday, December 30, 1999, in Oklahoma City. She was born April 20, 1913, in Breckenridge, Texas, to J.M. and Sybil Carrie Rickels.

Mrs. Ham grew up in west Texas and graduated from Woodson High School in Woodson, Texas.

In 1949, she and her husband, Lewis, made their home in Fitzhugh, Okla. In 1955 they moved to Pauls Valley, Okla.

She was a member and past president of the Oklahoma Women's Farm Bureau, in which she was active at the state and national levels. She was also a member of the Country Women of the World, National Cowboy Hall of Fame, and Pauls Valley and Paoli Church of Christ.

Mrs. Ham is preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Alvin and Jewell Rickels; and two sisters, Agnes Spain and Johnnie Ray.

She is survived by two sons, Rick Ham, Blanchard, Okla., and J.R. Ham, Garden City; three grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Paoli Cemetery under the direction of the Wooster Funeral Home. Fred Butler will be officiating.
