"Sarge" Haggard of Paoli was born August 15, 1918 in Clinton, Oklahoma, to Thomas Haggard and Dolly Boyd Haggard. He passed away March 14, 2007 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, at the age of 88 years. Boyd grew up in Clinton and made Paoli his home for the past 40 years. Boyd was married to Rosalea Hunter at Ada, Oklahoma, in 1946. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. He was a member of Christian Life Church in Pauls Valley. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Harold Haggard. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rosalea Haggard of Paoli; four children: Shirley Gray of Broken Arrow, Donnie Haggard of Paoli, Loyd Haggard of McCloud and Judy Williamson of Oklahoma City; one sister, Ruth Drake of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren: Kristian Jones, Kristi Haggard, Michael Haggard, Miranda Gray, Steven Barton, Brandon Haggard, Erin Haggard and Stuart Gray; three great-grandchildren: Caitlin Mavis, Taylar Haggard and Trevor Jones. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 17, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Stufflebean Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Rev. Aldon Preston. Burial will be at Paoli Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. |
© Stufflebean~Coffey Funeral Home Pauls Valley, Oklahoma September 8, 2009 Rosalea [Hunter] Haggard November 10, 1929 ~ September 8, 2009 Rosalea Haggard, 79 passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2009. Rosalea was born November 10th, 1929 in Maxwell, Oklahoma to William G. Hunter and Nettie Ross Hunter. Rosalea spend her entire life living in Oklahoma. She and her Husband, Boyd of 61 years raised their five children in Garvin County. She was a lifetime member of Christian Life Church in Pauls Valley. She is best remembered for her fundraiser activities (making fried pies) that assisted in funding trips for the Church kids or anything else that the Church may need. Any member that had a baby received custom handmade baby quilt, which are treasured for many years. The Grandchildren spend many hours at the fishing ponds trying to catch their dinner for Grandma to cook. Rosalea enjoyed raising baby calves on the bottle and all the family was taught how to do this. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, her husband of 61 years, Boyd A. Haggard and one son, Harold Haggard. Survived by four children, Shirley Gray of Broken Arrow; Donnie Haggard of Paoli; Loyd Haggard of McCloud and Judy Williamson of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren, Kristian Jones, Kristi Haggard, Michael Haggard, Miranda Gray Jones, Steven Barton, Brandon Haggard, Erin Haggard and Stuart Gray; four great grandchildren, Caitlin Haggard, Taylar Haggard, Trevor Jones and Madison Barton; and one sister, Irene Aldridge of California. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 11, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Rev. Aldon Preston. Interment will be at Paoli Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home |
