Green, of Paoli, passed away September 11, 2019 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 72 years. Charles was born July 13, 1947 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Mary (Grossman) Green and Peter George Green. He came to the Paoli area with his family at 5 years of age. He attended Paoli Schools and is a graduate of the Paoli High School. Later he joined the United States Navy where he served his Tour of Duty. Charles is a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He furthered his education by attending Vo-Tech in Okmulgee. He was married to Donna J. Crawford in Gainesville, Texas on November 24, 1982. As much as Charles loved his work as a Farmer and Rancher from tending his cattle and working in the hay fields to driving and using his tractors, he especially loved his family. His grandchildren were very special to him and he enjoyed joking around with all the nieces and nephews. Something else he really enjoyed was eating at the Cattlemen's Restaurant, especially some of the "different foods" they had such as mountain oysters and lamb fries and the like. Charles thoroughly enjoyed the old favorite Country style songs and Christian Hymns and was a member of Paoli First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Mary Green; and two brothers, Cornelius Green and Leo Green. His survived family include his wife of nearly 37 years, Donna Green of the home; two daughters and their husbands, Tammy and Jason Ketch of Oklahoma City; and Lisa and Aaron Zastrow of Las Vegas, Nevada; one brother and his wife, Ambrose and Melba Green of Elk City; one sister and her husband, Mary and Raymond Temple of Elmore City; three grandchildren, Aubrey, Lillian and Beau, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 13, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Paoli First Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Seth McDevitt. Interment will be at Paoli Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. |
