Gentry, of Canadian, was born August 20, 1941 in Wayne, Oklahoma to James Henry and Laura Aneta [Stephens] Gentry. He passed away September 10, 2010 in Canadian, Oklahoma at the age of 69 years. He worked in News Circulation with various newspapers including the Oklahoma Journal. James served in the U.S. Army. James was raised in the Wayne and Paoli area of Garvin County. He attended Paoli schools and is a graduate of the Paoli High School. On March 12, 1960 he was married to Judy Coffey in Ft. Knox, Kentucky. They have made their home in the Canadian, Oklahoma area for the past 18 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Kenneth Gentry and a sister, Marquerita Jo Purser. Surviving family include his wife of 50 years, Judy, of the home; three children, James Daniel and Tia Gentry, of Moore; Tamela Kay and Rick Blalock of Noble; Meleasa Ann Addonizio of Norman; nine grandchildren, Amanda Jane and Ron Brummett, Dustin Blalock, Kaylee Blalock, Courtney Gentry, Brittney and Eli Tuomala, Shelby Gentry, Natasha and Matt Hamilton, and Robert Mitchell and Robyn Mitchell; and one great-grandson, Zachary Hamilton. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Paoli Cemetery officiated by Ronald Sullivan. Interment will be at Paoli Cemetery. Interment and professional services are under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. |
