© Stufflebean~Coffey Funeral Home Pauls Valley, Oklahoma February 16, 2011 Lyndall Lucille [Whitaker] Ezell November 7, 1917 ~ February 16, 2011 Lyndall Lucille Ezell, 93, of Norman, Oklahoma, died peacefully with her husband by her side and family in attendance at Holiday Heights Nursing Home, Norman, OK on February 16, 2011. She was born in Paoli, Oklahoma, on November 7, 1917, to Frances Leila and Mounce Ethler Whitaker. Lyndall lived in Paoli, Oklahoma most of her life graduating from Paoli Public Schools in 1934 and attending East Central University. She grew up with and married Fred Marshall Ezell on December 11, 1937, and loved him for over 73 years. They raised their two daughters, Judy and Betty in Paoli and moved with Fred's job to the area around Meeker, Oklahoma for several years and retired to Paoli. She and Fred moved to Norman, OK in 1992. Lyndall was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She taught school for a period of time and was a devoted homemaker. She loved the church and the Lord and was a faithful member of the Methodist Church in Paoli, Oklahoma and Goodrich Memorial United Methodist Church in Norman, Oklahoma where she attended until her health declined. One of her favorite Bible verses was John 3:15, "That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life." Lyndall was a marvelous seamstress sewing clothing for her two daughters and granddaughter. She could draw a pattern for anything that you asked for from dresses to coats and sew it together beautifully. She was a great cook making everything from scratch. She rarely followed a recipe and cooked all of the fish that Fred ever caught. Lyndall had a passion for birds and watched them from her windows identifying them by name. She collected bird figurines and had dozens of them in her home. She also had a passion for rocks and rock collecting and taught her children and grandchildren the names of many of them. Her greatest passion, however, after her Lord, was her family. She will be remembered as the matriarch of the family, full of goodness, selfless love and wisdom. Her no nonsense advice will be greatly missed but will probably continue to be heard in our hearts. Preceding Lyndall in death were her parents, Mounce and Leila Whitaker; two brothers, Wilbur and Vaughn Whitaker; and two sisters, Eugenia "Jean" Futrell and Neva Spence. Lyndall is survived by her two daughters, Judy Floyd and husband Glenn of Norman, Oklahoma, and Betty Yates and husband Jerry of Elliston, Iowa; one brother Doug Whitaker and wife Martha of Ada, Oklahoma, two sisters, Ethelyn Lloyd Dennis, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Fern Ford of Pampa, Texas; four grandchildren, Lynne Driver and husband Russ of Norman, Oklahoma, Keith Johnson and wife Lori of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Jeff Yates and wife Shelly of Ankeny, Iowa, and Jay Yates and wife Chan of St. Joseph, Michigan; eight great-grandchildren, Cassie Snyder, Krysten Yates, Gary Driver, Jordan Yates, Jenna Yates, Kristy Johnson, Whitney Yates and Marshall Yates; and one great-great grandchild, Kaylan Snyder and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Pallbearers are Lynn Hawkins, Larry Hawkins, Danny Hawkins, Keith Johnson, Jeff Yates, Jay Yates and Gary Driver. Honorary bearers are Glenn Floyd, Russ Driver and Jerry Yates.
