February 16, 1911 R. M. "Rufe" Wilson 1860 ~ February 15, 1911 Death of R. M. Wilson R. M. Wilson, better known as Rufe, died last night about 11 o'clock at the home of G. W. Moss, five miles southwest of Davis, with whom he had been making his home for several years. Burial will be had in Oak Ridge graveyard this afternoon at 3 o'clock. Mr. Wilson was a bachelor, 51 years of age and had lived in this country probably 25 years. He leaves a brother, Mack Wilson, who lives west of Davis, and a sister at Greenville, Texas. He was a good man of quiet disposition, well liked by everybody. Death was caused by bronchial pneumonia. He had been sick about two weeks. |
December 8, 1932 M. C. "Mack" Wilson June 8, 1856 ~ December 7, 1932 Mack Wilson, Pioneer, Dies of Cancer Mack Wilson, aged 76 years, died Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock, at the home of his son, Mat Wilson, six miles north of Davis. Death was due to cancer of the mouth. Burial was in Oak Ridge cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Wilson had lived in and around Davis and Sulphur for about 43 years, and was well known in this vicinity. He was born in Northeast Texas. Surviving relatives are his widow; a son, Mat Wilson; a daughter, Mrs. Tom Anderson; and three step children, Mrs. Birdsong of Dallas and two Crozby [sic] men. |
