© Havenbrook Funeral Home Norman, Oklahoma March 2007 November 2, 1934 ~ March 5, 2007 Services for JoAnn Weatherford will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Norman, 211 West Comanche St., with Dr. Lavonn Brown and Glenn Faison officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 this evening. JoAnn was born in Pauls Valley on November 2, 1934, to Dave and Lockie Love. She died March 5 following a three year courageous battle against ovarian cancer. JoAnn graduated from Pauls Valley High School in 1952. She married the love of her life, Clovis Ray Weatherford, on Christmas Day 1953. She went on to graduate from the Oklahoma College for Women in 1962 with a degree in elementary education. She taught elementary school and was an elementary school librarian for over 29 years. She had tenure at public schools in Anadarko, Norman and Bartlesville, as well as Columbus, Ohio, and Liberal, Kansas. She was honored as Teacher of the Year in Bartlesville in 1996. JoAnn was also a successful Realtor for seven years in the 1980s, selling real estate with Clovis in the Norman area. She is survived by her husband, Clovis, sons Steve Weatherford and wife Cathy of Leawood, Kan., and Mark Weatherford and wife Paige of Grapevine, Texas; grandchildren Holly Weatherford Pahulu and husband Alex, Kaitlyn Weatherford, Ally Weatherford, Josh Lopez, Caleb Lopez, chelsey Weatherford and Abbe Weatherford. Other survivors include sister Brenda Tompkins and husband Jim of Purcell and brother Kim Paul White of McCloud. Finally, JoAnn wished that lifelong friends Joe Bob and Neva Weaver receive acknowledgement as family members. JoAnn was a dedicated, faithful and compassionate Christian woman who lived for her church and church friends, especially the Prime Timers Sunday School class, family said. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Norman and served her church working in the College Department, Single Adult Department, volunteering at the Family Life Center and served on various church committees. She was loved by her students and as a librarian always encouraged reading and literacy. JoAnn was a "people person" and was loved by everyone she met", family said. She enjoyed travel, ceramics and spending time with family and friends. Memorial contributions may be made in JoAnn's name to the Women's Cancer Fund'; Dr. Joan Walker, P.O.
