Rhodes, of Wynnewood, passed away May 14, 2016 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years. Billy was born July 24, 1935 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Charlie and Nettie ([McClain] Rhodes and was the youngest of twelve children. He grew up in the Pauls Valley area and is a 1954 graduate of the Pauls Valley High School. Billy was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. During his Tour of Duty, he was stationed in Washington D. C. and served for two years as an Honor Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown. Billy worked at various places in the area including the Wacker Pauls Valley Warehouse; Pauls Valley National Bank; Professional Home Care; Wal-Mart Distribution Center, and greatly enjoyed Ranching most of his working career. Billy was also a retired Volunteer Fire Fighter having worked for the Pauls Valley Fire Department for many years. The Pauls Valley-Wynnewood area has been his home most of his life. He was married to Wauthena [Fifer] Rhodes in Texas on February 9, 2002. Surviving family include his wife, Wauthena of the home; his son, Larry Rhodes and his wife, Annette, of Paoli; stepchildren, Health Boutwell and his wife, Jessica, of Broken Arrow; and Nick Boutwell and his wife, Sheila, of Tahlequah; four grandchildren, Larissa Johnson and her husband, Jansen, Lacey Rhodes, Brilee Boutwell and Kaylee Boutwell; eight step-grandchildren, Austin, Heston, Walker, Andrew, Zack, Hannah, Rebecca and Ariel; two sisters, Geneva Barr of North Bend, Oregon; and Vivian Crawford of Norman; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and many friends. Preceding him in death are: his parents, Charlie and Nettie Rhodes; sisters, Lula, Fannie, Sylvia, Zilpha; and brothers, Allen, Grant, Ray, Calvin, and Leslie. The family requests that memorials for Billy C. Rhodes be made to the cancer fund at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Pastor John Allen. Interment will be at Mt.
