© Stufflebean~Coffey Funeral Home Pauls Valley, Oklahoma Thursday, March 26, 2009 Ronald Dale McCombie November 14, 1921 ~ March 26, 2009 He was born in Beggs, Okla., to Oleta Mae and Harry McCombie on November 14, 1921 and was raised in Seminole, Okla. Dale was a proud World War II Air Force veteran of the 305th Bombardment Group flying 28 successful missions over Germany. He received numerous medals of valor including the Distinguished Flying Cross. He moved to Pauls Valley in 1947 and established Magneto Electric Company, an oil field service company. In late 1963 he was one of the first businessmen in the U.S. to receive the Honda motorcycle dealer's license and named it Dale's Honda Sales where he later added the Yamaha and for a brief time Suzuki motorcycle dealerships. He sold his business in 1986 and retired. Dale enjoyed playing on his high school basketball team until he contracted polio at 16 years of age and thus ending his "career." Later, his true sports love was playing tennis for exercise and recreation and did so for some 25-30 years and spending many enjoyable hours viewing the major tennis championships on television and attending several smaller tournaments. In addition, his family would travel to Houston, Texas annually for several years to watch motorcycle races and later sponsored a successful regional racer, who later became a top 100 rider in the U.S. He was also an avid, active investor in the stock market. Dale and his loving wife Beatrice of 64 years developed many lasting friendships in the community. They were active members of the First Church of God and their wonderful, caring congregation. He is survived by his wife Beatrice at Pauls Valley Health Care; and two sons: Rev. Michael McCombie and his wife Wilda of Lancaster, Calif., and Patrick McCombie and his wife Georgeanna of Tulsa, Okla.; a brother, Darel McCombie and sister-in-law, Donna of Sun City, Ariz.; a sister, Doris McDonald of Tatum, N.M. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 31 at Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 1 at 11 a.m. at the First Church of God under the direction of Rev. Patrick McCone with Rev. Michael McCombie officiating. Interment will be at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of the Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home in Pauls Valley. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the First Church of God, 414 N. Chickasaw, Pauls Valley. |
© Stufflebean~Coffey Funeral Home Pauls Valley, Oklahoma Thursday, January 7, 2016 Thelma Beatrice "Bea" McCombie December 13, 1919 ~ January 7, 2016 Thelma Beatrice "Bea" McCombie, 96, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016 in Pauls Valley. She was born in Prague, Oklahoma, to Robert and Linnie Duncan on December 13, 1919 and was raised in Prague, Oklahoma. In 1945, while World War II was still raging, "Bea," as she was affectionately known, boarded a train with her future mother-in-law and traveled from Oklahoma to Rapid City, SD to be married to Ronald Dale McCombie on March 17, 1945. Dale was stationed at Ellsworth AFB training future B-17 crews. Together they enjoyed 64 wonderful years of marriage and a long life together until Dale passed away on March 26, 2009. Dale and Bea moved to Pauls Valley in 1947 where they established the Magneto Electric Company, an oil field service company. From 1963 until 1986 Dale and Bea also owned and operated Dales's Honda Sales in Pauls Valley until they sold the business in 1986 and retired. Bea was known to all motorcycle and ATV enthusiasts and customers in the area as the "parts lady," as she worked alongside of Dale in their thriving business. She is survived by her two sons, Rev. Michael McCombie and his wife Wilda of Lancaster, California, and Patrick McCombie of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM, Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 15 at 10:30 AM at the First Church of God in Pauls Valley under the direction of Rev. Terry Clayton, with Rev. Michael McCombie officiating. Interment will be at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of the Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home in Pauls Valley.
