© Stufflebean~Coffey Funeral Home Pauls Valley, Oklahoma January 30, 2015 February 20, 1922 ~ January 30, 2015 Mattie Elizabeth Lowther, of Pauls Valley, passed away January 30, 2015 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 92 years. Mattie was born February 20, 1922 in Mulberry, Arkansas to Benjamin William and Sarah Catherine [Stroup] Garside. She was married in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Alva Dixon Lowther on March 8, 1943; they were blessed with two sons. She was raised in Stratford, Oklahoma and moved to make Wynnewood her home most of her life and had worked at the Southern Oklahoma Resource Center (SORC) for many years and was a House Supervisor when she retired. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alva Dixon Lowther, November 11, 1993; and is the last of her brothers and sisters. Surviving family include her granddaughters, Genda Mathis and Glenene Neal; two sons, Dixon Alva Lowther and his wife, Evelyn, and Gene Wallace Lowther and his wife, Linda; six great grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Graveside Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 2, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. |
