Ketchum, 88, of Purcell were held Dec. 1, 2003 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell with the Rev. Bill Irwin officiating. Interment was at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley under the direction of Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell. Mr. Ketchum died Nov. 28, 2003 at Sunset Estates Nursing Home in Purcell. He was born December 5, 1914 in Gunner, Texas, one of 13 children of Robert Lee Ketchum and Jimmie Stephens. He was reared in Pauls Valley and began working as a young man on cattle ranches in the Lindsay and Pauls Valley areas. He later moved to the south Oklahoma City area in 1948 and began working for the Oklahoma City Board of Education as a heavy equipment operator. Mr. Ketchum married his wife May 2, 1956 in Guthrie and continued living in Oklahoma City. He later worked as a truck driver for Fleck Bearing Co. for 17 years. After retirement in 1978, he moved to Purcell to be close to his sons. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Clydene Williamson; two sons, Wayne Ketchum and Tommy Ketchum; three infants siblings; four brothers, J.E., Claude, Woodrow and Whitie; one sister, Betty Joe and three grandchildren, Mandy Ketchum, Mike Ketchum and Skeeter Williamson. Survivors include his wife, three sons, one daughter, Ali a daughter-in-law, two brothers, two sisters, 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. |
