© Stufflebean~Coffey Funeral Home Pauls Valley, Oklahoma August 3, 2015 Cheryl Ann [Jacobson] Hansen May 24, 1950 ~ July 25, 2015 Cheryl Ann Hansen, of Oklahoma City, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, July 25th at Bellevue Health and Rehabilitation Center in Oklahoma City. Lung cancer prematurely took her life at age 65. Born May 24, 1950 at Robberson-Shirley Hospital in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, Cheryl was the second of five children born to Gayle and Betty Jacobson. She grew up in Pauls Valley and was a well-known academic achiever in the local school system. Early In 1966, Cheryl and four high school classmates formed "The Livin' End", Oklahoma's first all-girl rock & roll band. She was the group's drummer and cherished each and every performance at concert venues and "teen-hop" dances across the state. She graduated with the Pauls Valley High School Class of 1968. Cheryl attended Oklahoma State University initially but transferred to the University of Oklahoma after deciding to pursue her professional pharmacy career. Her Bachelor of Science Pharmacy Degree was awarded with Honors in 1976. Board Certification was earned in 1977. She was an active member of OU's Rho-Chi honor student society and served as President of the Kappa Epsilon women's pharmacy organization. Doctor of Pharmacy credentials were earned in 2001. Most of her thirty year career was devoted to consulting pharmacy and patient care reviews at numerous long term care facilities in south central Oklahoma. Ms. Hansen was preceded in death by her father Gayle Jacobson and younger brother Ben Jacobson. Survivors include mother Betty Jacobson, sister, Marilyn Hubbard, two brothers, David and Bert Jacobson plus many beloved aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins. Private memorial services officiated by Teresa Begley and Reba Jo Ward were held Wednesday afternoon at Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home with interment at Pauls Valley Mount Olivet Cemetery. |
