December 28, 2005 Johnnie B. Finley January 23, 1922 ~ December 26, 2005 Johnnie B. Finley of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, was born to Nicholas A. and Martha [Cox]. Finley on January 23, 1922, in Vinson, Oklahoma, and passed from this life on Monday, December 26, 2005, in Norman, Oklahoma, at the age of 83 years. Mr. Finley grew up and attended school in Vinson, Oklahoma. On April 12, 1956, Johnnie married Stella Ward in Pauls Valley. Pauls Valley has been their home for many years. Johnnie served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as a rancher for most of his life. Mr. Finley enjoyed working with wood. Mr. Finley is survived by his wife: Stella of the home; one son: Jerry Finley of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; one brother: Kenneth Finley and his wife Norman of Kingfisher, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law: Thelma Ragland and her husband Harold of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; two brothers-in-law: Buddy Ward and his wife Aaron of Decatur, Texas, and Jessie Ward and his wife Pearl of Harlingen, Texas; three nephews; and a host of great nieces and nephews. Mr. Finley was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Martha Finley. Funeral services for Mr. Finley are scheduled for Thursday, December 29, 2005, at 2 p.m. in the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marion Oden officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home. |
February 6, 2016 Stella Christine [Ward] Finley October 25, 1934 ~ February 6, 2016 Stella C. Finley, of Pauls Valley, passed away February 6, 2016 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years. Stella was born October 25, 1934 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Jesse and Lovina [Peters] Ward. Stella is a graduate of Boyd High School in Boyd, Texas. Later, she and Johnnie B. Finley were married April 12, 1956; they had been married 50 years at the time of his passing. She earned her Certified Medical Assistant Certificate and worked in Healthcare and she was also a homemaker for her family. Stella was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Pauls Valley has been her home for most of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Lovina Ward; her husband, Johnnie B. Finley on December 26, 2005; and son, Jerry Don Finley on April 1, 2007. Surviving family include one sister and her husband, Thelma and Harold Ragland, of Pauls Valley; two brothers, Rev. Daniel Ward, of Decatur, Texas; and Rev. Jess Ward, of Harlingen, Texas; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 10:00 am at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Rev. Marion Oden. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. |
