© Stufflebean~Coffey Funeral Home Pauls Valley, Oklahoma May 28, 2016 Marjorie Helen Bridges Douglas October 9, 1928 ~ May 28, 2016 Marjorie Helen Bridges Douglas, of Pauls Valley, passed away May 28, 2016 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 87 years. Marjorie was born October 9, 1928 in Cushing, Oklahoma to Lewis H. and Mary Susan Annie [Wardwell] Bridges. In 1971, she and Charles Douglas were married in Eufaula, Oklahoma in 1971. Marjorie was a Nurse held various positions in Healthcare; for over 14 years she worked at the Pauls Valley Health Care Facility until her retirement. She was a member of New Testament Baptist Church. Some of Marjorie's enjoyable activities included sewing, working in her garden, going to Antique Stores and stopping at Long John Silver's to enjoy her favorite meals. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis H. and Mary Susan Annie (Wardwell) Bridges and her husband, Charles Douglas; her brothers, Charles Bridges and Jimmy Bridges. Surviving family include her sister, Nancy Cowan of Chickasha; her brother, Rev. Lewis E. Bridges of Tupelo, Mississippi; a sister-in-law, Inez Bridges; a host of nieces and nephews, and very special friends, Joe and Virginia Cowan and family. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Marjorie's caregiver, Annie Fogle and all the staff at Loving Care Home Health as well as Dr. Steve Moore, Dr. William Wright, Dr. Tammy Jarvis and all the staff at Pauls Valley General Hospital for their care and love shown to Marjorie. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the New Testament Baptist Church in Pauls Valley officiated by Rev. Mike Martinez. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Professional services and interment are under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. |
