Maxine [Lansford] Carlton

Maxine L. Carlton, of Pauls Valley, passed away October 3, 2015 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 92 years.

Maxine Lansford was born December 24, 1922 in Oilton, Oklahoma to Lester Lee and Jennie Mae [Deeds] Lansford.

On November 15, 1944 she was married to James Weldon Carlton in Ardmore, Oklahoma. They were blessed with a son, James W. Carlton, Jr. She worked as a Legal Secretary for many years and later worked and retired from British Petroleum. Pauls Valley has been her home since 1947 and was a member of First Baptist Church of Pauls Valley.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Lester Lee and Jennie Mae Lansford; her husband, James Weldon Carlton, Sr. on February 9, 1991; brothers, James William Lansford and Lester Lee Lansford, Jr.; and one sister, Mildred Shebester.

Surviving family include her son, James "Jay" W. Carlton, Jr. and his wife, Kathleen, of Pauls Valley; her grandson, Geoffrey C. Carlton, and her granddaughter, Jessica E. Carlton, both of Pauls Valley.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Bro. Gerald Ware. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home
