© Stufflebean~Coffey Funeral Home Pauls Valley, Oklahoma Sunday, February 9, 2014 Billie Joe "Bill" Burrows August 22, 1925 ~ February 9, 2014 Billie Joe "Bill" Burrows was born August 22, 1925 in Wayne, Oklahoma to James Franklin Burrows and Juanita Ann [Stidham] Burrows. He was one of nine children. At the age of nine, he left school to work on the farm the help support his family. Bill served his country proudly in the Navy for almost two years, serving in World War II. After leaving the Navy, Bill married Pansy Lou Smith. Six months after his marriage, he served his country proudly in the Army for over two years. After his tours of duty Bill moved his family to Oklahoma City where he raised his children. Bill was preceded in death by his first wife of 47 years, Pansy Lou Burrows, and his son, Gary Don Burrows; his parents, James Franklin and Juanita Ann Burrows; four sisters, Margie Ann Smith, Wanda Faye Dutton, Mevis Jean Dixon and Mary Sue Brown; two brothers, James Roland Burrows and Vernon Ray Burrows. Surviving family include his brothers, John Burrows and Jim Burrows, four daughters, JoAnn Haynes and husband Deward, and Brenda Hicks and husband, R. C., Glenda Hicks and husband Phillip, and Ronda McDaniel and husband Terry; three sons, Jimmy Randall Burrows, Larry Dewayne Burrows, and Curtis Ladon Burrows; 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. Bill is also survived by his second wife of 19 years, Ruby Faye Hughes and her children, Brenda Brown, Mary Selby, Joe Brown and Tammy Boney; nine grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. Bill passed away in Norman, Oklahoma on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at the age of 88 years. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 10:30 am at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Pastor Stephen Reid. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home |
