Benny Marland Brown Sr
January 16, 1936 ~ December 7, 2014


Benny Marland Brown, Sr., of Pauls Valley, passed away December 7, 2014 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years.

He was born January 16, 1936 in Centrahoma, Oklahoma to James Thomas and Sophia Lee [Harper] Brown.

He was married to Elaine Marie Latimer in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma on January 8, 1955. He worked as a Butcher and had been in the Grocery Business for many years until his retirement. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and has made Pauls Valley his home most of his life.

Benny was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 57 years, Elaine Brown; one son, Jackie Dewayne Brown; three grandchildren, Brody Speerbrecher, Tyler Teal and Dusty Brown; 5 sisters and one brother, Betty Lee Miller, Bessie Leota Bailey, Winnie Mildred Henmenway, Vera Ellen Stone, Billie Arvella Dehart and G. W. "Dub" Brown.

Surviving family include his 5 children, Janet Sawyer of Pauls Valley; Ida Walck and her husband, James, of Payne; Bobby Brown and Benny M. Brown, Jr., both of Pauls Valley; and Karen Jordan of Dallas, Texas; three adopted children, Angela Nicole Schultz, Joshua Taylor Brown, and Lexi Ann Brown all of Pauls Valley; one sister, Patsy Ruth Lewis of Purcell; four brothers, Troy Dale Brown and his wife, Ruby, of Sulphur; Buster Merle Brown of Maysville; Donnie Mac Brown and his wife, Linda, of Norman; and James Orville Brown, Sr. and his wife, Thelma Lou, of Shawnee; 17 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Rev. Tom Ison. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.

Elaine M. [Latimer] Brown
January 9, 1939 ~ April 14, 2012


Elaine Marie Brown, of Pauls Valley, was born January 9, 1939 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Osborn Warren Latimer and Christine Lee [Creggar] Latimer.

She passed away April 14, 2012 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 73 years.

Elaine Marie Latimer was married to Benny Brown, Sr. in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma on January 8, 1955. Following her primary education she attended courses to become a Dietician and as a Dietician she worked at the Pauls Valley General Hospital from 1973 until 2001, when she retired. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and had made the Pauls Valley area her home all of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, O. W. Latimer and Christine Victor; one son, Jackie Dewayne Brown; three grandchildren, Brody Speerbrecher, Tyler Teal and Dusty Brown; 3 sisters, Ruby Joyce Rose, Vera Doris Norman and Linda Gayle Ashley; and 1 brother, Larry Jack Latimer.

Surviving family include her husband of 57 years, Benny M. Brown, Sr. of the home; their children, Janet Sawyer of Pauls Valley; Ida Walck of Payne; Bobby Brown and Benny M. Brown, Jr., both of Pauls Valley; and Karen Jordan, of Dallas, Texas; 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 3 half sisters, Marilyn Edwards, Sandi Ledford and Becky Myers, 3 half brothers, Dennis Latimer, Mike Latimer and Steve Latimer.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Rev. Tom Ison and Charles Ledbetter. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Interment and professional services are under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
