Masters formally of Stratford, Oklahoma was born December 27, 1936 in Asher, Oklahoma to John T. Masters SR. and Myrtle Mary [McPherson] Masters. He passed away Friday March 13, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 83 years 2 months and 16 days. He moved to Stratford at age 7 and graduated from Stratford High School with the class of 1955. He then served our country in the United States Army. He did his basic training in Fort Carson in Colorado and he was in the National Honor Guard in Arlington, Virginia where he guarded President Kennedy. He married Myrtle Marlow on September 10, 1966 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They made their home in Moore, Oklahoma and he worked for Tinker Field. He was a valve shop foreman and received many awards for outstanding employee. He retired early and began working as manager of 7 Eleven in Moore. He lived in Moore until his death. He was a devoted husband and father. Preceded by; his parents, two sisters; Hester Wise and Wilma Wood. Survived by; his wife; Myrtle Masters of the home in Moore, daughter; Karen Masters and son in law Michael Borge of Kennesaw, Georgia; son; Kevin & wife Christine Masters of Bettendorf, Iowa. brother J.D. Masters of Stratford, Oklahoma. two grandchildren; Miles Sent-Leger Franklin and Phineas Masters. Visitation; Wednesday March 18, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 pm he will lay in state all day Wednesday in DeArman/Pickard Funeral Home Stratford, OK. Services; 2:00 PM Thursday March 19, 2020 at the Free Will Baptist Church in Stratford, Oklahoma. Officiating: Rev. Lewis Perry. Burial will be in McGee cemetery. |
