Home Purcell, Oklahoma September 2019 Willie Easton November 10, 1920 ~ September 08, 2019 Willie Easton, age 98, of Lexington, entered Heaven’s Gates Sunday, September 8, 2019. William Alvin Easton was born November 10, 1920 in Charleston, Coles Co., Illinois, the son of William Nathan and Mada B. [Parrish] Easton. He came to Oklahoma in 1931 to Oil Center, North of Ada, and then moved in to Ada in 1934. In 1940, Willie joined the CCC, working at the Purcell camp, in Sentinel, and in Watonga. Willie was drafted into the United States Army in July of 1942, and served his country proudly during World War II. On July 12, 1944, he landed on Utah Beach in Normandy, and fought across Normandy, France, Belgium, Luxemburg, and into Germany. He was wounded in the battle of the Hurtgen Forest Dec. 2, 1944 and spent three months in hospitals before being shipped back home to the United States. After writing a girl from Stratford, he eventually married this girl. She was Euva Jean Eeds, and they were united in marriage on April 17, 1945. They moved to Lexington in July, 1954, and together they raised two sons, Alvin and Mark. Willie established Easton’s Upholstery Shop on Main Street, and owned and operated it for many years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, The Military Order of the Purple Heart, National Purple Heart Hall of Honor, and a longtime and faithful member of Purcell Memorial Assembly of God church. He was proceeded in death by: His Parents, William Nathan and Mada [Parrish] Easton,His wife of 68 years, Euva Jean [Eeds] Easton,Brothers and sisters: Frankie, Tommy, Mildred Ragland, Edith Harrison,Ileene Shonts, Jewell Easton, and Richard Calhoun. Willie is survived by: His two sons, Alvin and Weeta Easton of Moore and Mark and Kris Easton of Lexington, Three grandchildren; Kevin Easton of Moore, Abby Easton of Norman, and Noah Easton of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Great grandchildren: Brooke Vegas Patterson of Lexington, Cannon Ian Eastep of Baltimore and Blake William Eastep of Lexington and Elenor Olivia Eastep. Step grandson, David and Seanna Izzo of San Antonio, Texas and Step great grandchildren, Ethan, Courtney, and Wesley Izzo. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:30 A.M. Saturday, September 14, 2019, at the Memorial Assembly of God Church in Purcell. Burial will follow at 2:00 P.M., at the McGee Cemetery near Stratford. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Missions Fund % of Memorial Assembly of God Church, 701 W. Monroe, Purcell, OK, 73080. Home Purcell, Oklahoma July 13, 2013 Euva Jean [Eeds] Easton March 3, 1925 ~ July 13, 2013 Euva Jean Easton age 88 of Lexington passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013 at her home. She was born March 3, 1925 in Stratford, Oklahoma. She was the oldest of five children born to Dewey Eeds and Susan Elizabeth Maupin. Jean grew up a farm girl living outside of Stratford. She attended Vanoss Schools and graduated in 1943. Two years later, Jean married William "Willie" Alvin Easton the love of her life. They were married on April 17, 1945 in Ada. Jean and Willie raised two sons, Alvin and Mark. They lived in the OKC area for a short time before moving to Lexington in 1954, where they live today. Jean was a wonderful wife and homemaker. Throughout her life, she enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing and working in her flower gardens. She also enjoyed fishing and camping and she was an avid reader. She was a faithful Christian woman where attended church regularly. She was a member of Memorial Assembly of God Church in Purcell for many years. Jean was preceded in death by: Parents; Dewey and Susan Eeds, One brother: Dale Eeds. She is survived by: Husband of 68 years: Willie Easton of the home, Two sons: Alvin Easton and wife Weeta of Moore, Mark Easton and wife Kris of Lexington, Three grandchildren: Kevin, Abby and Noah Easton, One great granddaughter: Brooke Patterson, Two sisters: Doris Waddle and husband Lester of OKC, Carolyn Ridge of Moore, One brother: Carroll Eeds of OKC, Several nieces, nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Memorial Assembly of God Church in Purcell. Interment will be 2:00 PM at the McGee Cemetery north of Stratford, OK. Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell. |
