© Wadley's Funeral Service Purcell, Oklahoma February 2020 Margaret Lue [Thompson] Ballard August 13, 1933 ~ March 9, 2018 Margaret Lue Ballard died March 9, 2018 at her home in Blanchard, at the age of 84 years 6 months 27 days. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Wadley's Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at McGee Cemetery in Stratford, entrusted to the care of Wadley's Funeral Service. Margaret was born August 13, 1933 in Byars, Oklahoma to Clyde and Leila [York] Thompson. She was raised in Byars, graduating around 1951. On April 15, 1954, she married John Ballard. They made their home in the area in 1973. While John was a minister and Pastored many churches, Margaret's ministry was as a Certified Nurse Aide and Certified Medication Aide in area nursing homes. They were members of the Lexington Freewill Baptist Church for many years. Margaret enjoyed crocheting, flower gardening, cooking, attending and singing at Revivals, and spending time with her family, especially her many grandchildren. Margaret is preceded in death by her father, Clyde Thompson, Sr.; her mother, Leila (York) Thompson; her husband, John Ballard, Sr.; her son, John Ballard, Jr.; her daughter, Brenda Sue Ballard; 2 great grandchildren, Dominic and Allison; siblings, Clyde Thompson, Jr., Nettie "June" Perry, Martha Thompson, Don Thompson, Helen Mouser, and Bill Thompson. Survivors include her daughters, Karen Lee and husband, Ray of Blanchard, Sheila Ballard Thornton of Texas; grandchildren, Jason, Justin, Jessi, Nathan, Cody, Clint, Tavia, Tara, Jody and Dakota; numerous great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. |
